Dear Shaughnessy members, 

The holiday season at Shaughnessy is now in full swing, and our Clubhouse has never looked better. This is all thanks to the dedicated efforts of our volunteer decorators and the clubhouse maintenance team – fantastic work by all!

While our Christmas events are filling up quickly, there are still spots available for some of our key events. To secure your spot, please make a reservation here.

In exciting news from last month, the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open was named the LPGA’s Tournament of the Year, outshining more than 35 other events and venues in the 2023 season. This prestigious award was based on the exceptional experience provided to both players and partners, on and off the course. A heartfelt thank you to all our partners, including Golf Canada, Musqueam, CPKC, BC Children’s, and not least, the volunteers and club staff whose dedication ensured the event’s remarkable success.

We recently announced the impending retirement of our Head Gardener, Gerry Morris. We are pleased to introduce William Orgill as his successor. William, who has been working closely with Gerry for the past decade, will become only the third head gardener in the Club’s history since our relocation from Shaughnessy Heights. His appointment, effective from the end of January, signals a bright future for our horticulture team under his leadership.

Please note that the annual Clubhouse shutdown begins on January 1st. Regular clubhouse operations, including food and beverage services, will resume on Thursday, January 18th. For more information about upcoming closures and their impact on operations, see below or click here.

As 2023 draws to a close, I would like to extend my warmest wishes for a wonderful holiday and Christmas season to all our members.

Current Tennis Guest Policy

Effective October 1st until March 1st, members may only bring guests to play tennis during non-prime time hours (weekdays before 6:00 PM, weekends after 1:00 PM)

Tennis Centre Wine & Cheese

Join your fellow members and the Shaughnessy Tennis Centre staff for a Wine & Cheese Party in the Tennis Centre on Wednesday, December 13th. There is no cost to attend, and registration is not required.

Quick Reminders

• Mark your calendars for the 2024 Tennis Club Championships, which will be held from Monday, February 19th to Saturday, March 2nd.
• The current ladders are in full swing and will run until the end of December. Please contact Director of Tennis Jerome Fournier if you would like to join the next session beginning January 1st.
• Members can book the Indoor courts for singles and doubles play. The available booking times are between 6:45 AM and 8:30 PM on weekdays and 6:45 AM and 6:00 PM on weekends. You can book a court by calling the Tennis Centre at 604.266.9165 or by calling/texting the booking phone at 236.878.4320.
• The ball machine can be booked for use on the day of.
• Tuesday Men’s Night Tennis – 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Sign up weekly.
• Ladies Dogwood League Fridays 11:00-1:00 pm competing against various clubs

Dear Shaughnessy Members,

Our golf shop and back shop staff would like to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season. We look forward to seeing those of you who like to golf year-round and don’t hesitate to reach out to our Professional Staff to get a jump start on your game for next year.

We are also available to help with any Christmas shopping you may have in the coming weeks with our “12 Days of Christmas” giveaways starting December 11th- December 22nd (tickets are available for purchase in the Golf Shop!)

We are working hard planning the 2024 season and will plan to advertise the Men’s Women’s and Junior calendars in the New Year. Things are shaping up to be a very exciting year ahead!
