President’s Report
Dear Shaughnessy members,
Spring is in full swing and following aeration a few weeks ago, the course has been in outstanding condition. A special thank you to Andrew and his team for their commitment to consistent excellence despite the significant increase in rounds over the past year.
As mentioned in a recent note to membership, the most current Provincial Health Order has altered our ability to host golf and tennis events and tournaments in ways that we have grown accustomed to, at least for the near future. We remain committed to abiding by provincial health regulations as we do our part in keeping our staff, members and the community safe.
On April 21st, we conducted our 106th Annual General Meeting (AGM), and our 2nd virtual edition. Over 80 members joined us as we reviewed the year that was 2020. The AGM was an opportunity to highlight our collective response to a year that will likely never be forgotten.
Access to the tee continues to remain top of mind for all golf members. As mentioned in previous notes, this year we accepted only a limited number (10) of new term golf members (family-related). Recognizing that we continue to deal with an unprecedented demand shock while remaining committed to prioritizing equitable access to the tee for our current members, the Board has no plans to accept any new term golf members for the rest of the year.
Despite all the challenges from 2020 and the constantly evolving situation that we are currently facing, rest assured that we remain steadfast in pursuit of our mission of providing the highest quality programs, services and facilities to all of you.
Respectfully submitted,
Gord Chan

Men’s Golf Captain Report
Hello members,
As we head into the month of May, where we should be excited for the start of the Men’s events, we hopefully face only a small blip in delaying the full-on experience.
Don’t fret, as we will still have the nail-biting, nicotine-gum-chewing, heart-pumping, Gold Cup on May 15th & 16th. The Gold Cup, of course, serves as the qualifier for the Club Championship – every member’s dream addition to the trophy mantle.
Just like me living Groundhog Day by hitting my tee shot into the right trees of #2 fairway, we yet again set an extraordinary number of rounds for April.
I cannot say thank you enough to Andrew Hart and his team!! Keep up the top drawer conditions.
I would also like to say thank you to our members who do their part each round keeping our divots filled and pitch marks repaired.
Be sure to read emails for upcoming men’s golf days.
Good luck to everyone in your respected flight matches.
Respectfully submitted,
Sean Crowther

Hello everyone,
April is in the books.
We had superb weather with great food and bevies for our Opening on April 20th. I hope you enjoyed the day. Thank you, Michelle Waters and Zach Pichor, and all the staff that helped make it special. It felt just that way.
Opening Day
Our team of Opening Day winners shot a Net to Par -24(49)! Well done Faye Wong, Lily Lee, Agnes Stewart, and Sally Lazuruk.
To see results from any of our past events, select the event in the event calendar, click on “Click Here to Register,” and the results from the field will load.
Pick a Partner
The weather held for us, and Maggie Shen and Nancy Li were victorious on the day with a Net to Par of -11(62). Congratulations ladies. Faye and I improved our standing from years past, so we are already looking forward to this event next year.
Thank you all for helping with the course experience by emptying those sand bottles all over those nasty divots. My motto remains: the divots you fill today are the ones you won’t be in tomorrow. Bottles up!
Here comes more golf:
May starts with the Austin Taylor Qualifier and the 2-Day Eclectic.
June is a mix of fun and serious competitions, capped off with Grandmothers Cup.
July has a variety, with a special focus on the Senior Club Championship.
August will bring excitement with the Ryder Cup, our Club Championship, and the CPWO!
September will see our Kate Booth House Charity Golf Tournament, a beloved tradition to our venerable club. Come out to support our dear friends at Kate Booth House in all the good work they do. There are donation forms available in the Golf Shop and in the Admin Office, and volunteers are being sought. For information on how you can help, please contact Jane Macgregor at janemacgregor29@gmail.com. Thank you once again, Jane!
Sheila Ross celebrated her 90th Birthday with us on April 11th, and we celebrated COVID-style. Thank you to everyone who took the time to help with this milestone. It was a fun moment.
The recent email regarding ‘events’ restrictions is a temporary measure. Prize disbursements will continue after the restrictions are lifted. Please continue to use the calendar to sign up for Tuesday golf.
May we all continue to enjoy our beautiful golf course all season long.
Respectfully submitted,

Dear Shaughnessy Members,
New for 2021, we are pleased to introduce The Cap Patrol mobile app. This app is a fun, useful tool for members that want to follow their overall play and the play of their friends at the Club.
The app provides members with a way to track their current play and even how they have played in the past. There are features in the app for members to see how other members are playing and ways to set up competitive teams amongst your group. There are also features such as “Hot Index”, “Trend”, “History”, “Clutch” and even an option called “Odds”, showing you the statistical probability of shooting certain net scores, all meant to enhance and deliver an exciting golf experience.
There is no cost for downloading the app. Each member will need only their Golf Canada ID Number and email address to register.
The app is available on:
STEP 1: Go to the App Store or Google Play and download the below app.
STEP 2: Click on New User – SIGN UP NOW
STEP 3: Enter your credentials and hit REGISTER ACCOUNT.
STEP 4: Enter your GOLF CANADA ID NUMBER (10-digit membership number) where it says GHIN.
